- Phil was willing to ask himself a tough question…Is Jesus building something here or are we building it?
- Jesus actually gave three commissions. 1) Matthew 10 to the twelve, 2) Luke 10 to the seventy-two and then 3) the Great commission in Matthew 28:18-20.
- If the Great Commission matters so much to Jesus, wouldn’t he have also shown us how to do it? He did! In Matthew 10 and Luke 10.
- The weaker you are, the stronger you are. We need to be willing to be a learner, totally dependent on Jesus.
- Commit several Bible stories to memory then after finding out the issues in someone’s life, share one of them and do an informal discovery study with them. Then invite them to study further with you.
- Study scripture in order to get God’s plan for the world. Instead of running away from the disconnect, deliberately discomfort yourself with it and let that drive you to prayer.
- We need to not only repent of our sin but repent of ourselves. Our dependence on ourselves and not obeying the methods and ways of Jesus.
