Episode 74: The Destination isn’t Multiplication

LISTEN TO THE EPISODE ABOVE

Summary:

We’re back!  In this first episode after a short break, Cynthia talks about the destination of our spiritual journey toward transformation.  She’ll share about the ups and downs on the journey to see breakthrough and greater fruit among the lost and how remembering the end-vision is Jesus not seeing thousands saved keeps us grounded on the journey

Key Points From This Episode:

  • End visions (see Episode 36) are important and help us be willing to change how we work as disciple-makers.
  • End visons that are multiplicative, cause us to depend more on Jesus and press into prayer.
  • The destination of our journey is not multiplication it is Jesus! Knowing Him and becoming like Him is the desire of our lives.
  • The Critical Journey by Janet Hagberg and Robert Guelich outlines stages of our spiritual journey.  Cynthia applies this to the movement leaders journey.
  • We can have mixed motivations for wanting to see greater fruit or multiplication. God is good at providing us with opportunities to be stripped of these and purified.
  • Pursue Jesus not movements!
